Matthew has taken part in this year’s National Doodle Day by drawing a doodle that will be sold for charity!

Get ready for some big Neville action in a little over 2 weeks! abc Family is having yet another Harry Potter weekend, they are playing the extended Order of the Phoenix (in case you missed it on abc last Saturday) AND showing a preview of Deathly Hallows (the one that was on the Half-Blood Prince dvd)!!!!

Spend three days enjoying every spell, snitch and scar-burning moment of the first five films in the Harry Potter franchise with ABC Family’s “Harry Potter Weekend” on Friday, March 19 through Sunday, March 21. The weekend event also includes the basic cable premiere of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” featuring deleted scenes not included in the original film version.

Along with a weekend full of wizarding fun, ABC Family will be premiering a two-minute never-seen-before on television sneak peek of the upcoming film, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” throughout the weekend event.

Thanks to SnitchSeeker we have the first videos of Matt at the MCM Expo that took place earlier in the week.  View them all in the video archive!  The following is a bit of information we gained from the videos:

• Matt stated that most of Deathly Hallows: Part I is near completion, and that they are finishing up on the final battle sequences with “Voldemort and the Death Eaters” at the present time.
• Matt mentioned how Neville gained insight from Harry about becoming a leader in Deathly Hallows, and running a resistance.
• Matt says that the Harry Potter costar he’s been most in awe of whilst working against was Alan Rickman when he, Matt, was younger, Gary Oldman, and Ralph Fiennes this year (watching him work was “hypnotic” and that he couldn’t take his eyes off the way Ralph moved on set as Voldemort).
• When Matt was about 9-10 years old, and as a fan of the book series, he said he used to dress up as Harry Potter and home.
• Matt said his favorite movie to film was Order of the Phoenix, because Neville had more responsibility and there was more emotion, as well as the action, where he “felt like Tom Cruise.” Both Matt and Warwick said that Deathly Hallows might eclipse the previous films. Warwick said that the fourth, Goblet of Fire, was his favourite because his part in the Yule Ball with the Weird Sisters, where it felt like they were in the midst of a rock concert.
• In terms of pranks, Matt remembered a staff work party that the cast and crew attended, where Alfie Enoch’s phone fell out of his pocket, which he didn’t give back in two months. Alfie went on holiday for quite a while, and when he got back home, Matt showed him the phone and asked if he was missing something. Alfie thanked him for the phone, though to this day doesn’t know that Matt nicked it. Warwick recalled the fart machine put in the Great Hall set in Prisoner of Azkaban, placed under Daniel Radcliffe’s pillow during the final take, which led to some rather amusing results.
• Matt said that as long as he’s doing Harry Potter, he doesn’t have to grow up yet. He can be a big kid and still do proper work.
• Matt said that Neville would be a badger Animagi; Warwick noted that Flitwick would be a gerbil.
• Matt and Warwick said that the worst thing about filming the series is getting up early, but otherwise there isn’t much to complain about (the food and people are great, stated Warwick).

Matt has just confirmed via his Twitter that he will have night shooting this week!

Sat in the hotel. On nightshoots this week. I’ve brought my clubs so I think the driving range and then the swimming pool beckons.

So this means that Swinley Forest will be filming at night, which makes me assume that he is filming Hogwarts Battle scenes, yay!
